West Ham are working to finalise a deal for Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto, sources have confirmed to 90min, with Paris Saint-Germain's Hugo Ekitike also an option.

The Hammers' technical director Tim Steidten has been in Brazil to try and negotiate a fee for the 22-year-old, who made his senior international debut against Morocco in March.

Alberto only joined Corinthians on loan from Zenit Saint Petersburg in June, going on to sign a five-year contract in January in a deal that saw Robert Renan and Du Queiroz head the other way, and would provide David Moyes with the extra attacking option he wants to bring in before the summer window slams shut.

The Scot wants to build on a promising start to the new season which has seen West Ham pick up seven points from a possible nine, and Steidten has been tasked with getting a deal over the line just days after the club confirmed the signing of Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus.

Sources confirmed to 90min on Tuesday morning that Corinthians had initially told West Ham they had no real interest in selling, but later intimated that a fee of around €20m (£17.2m) plus a significant sell-on clause of around 40 per cent may be enough to get a deal done.

West Ham are continuing to negotiate with Corinthians and will look to tie up the best deal possible, but matters have been complicated by the raft of agents and intermediaries working on the transfer. Steidten is also in Brazil to discuss other transfer targets too, with the Europa Conference League winners looking to sign players for both now and in the future.

90min further understands that Ekitike, a long-term target of the club, is also under consideration, with both a loan deal and permanent transfer on the cards from Paris Saint-Germain. But again any move is far from straightforward, with Eintracht Frankfurt showing a strong interest in the 21-year-old as Randal Kolo Muani pushes for a move to the French capital.

Frankfurt have rejected an €80m (£68.8m) offer from PSG for Kolo Muani, but the player is keen to return to Ligue 1 and the former Europa League winners may try to facilitate an exit that involves Ekitike arriving in some capacity.

Divock Origi, a target for Burnley, has also been considered by West Ham, while a short-term deal could be offered to versatile forward Jesse Lingard, who has been training with the club over the past few weeks.

Any incomings at West Ham could spell trouble for Danny Ings, who is a target of Everton and former boss Sean Dyche. The 31-year-old is keen to fight for his place at London Stadium but has a tough job on his hands to dislodge the in-form Michail Antonio, who continues to attract interest from Saudi Arabia, and it's believed the club are willing to let him leave.
