The Colorado Rapids parted ways with head coach Robin Fraser following a string of negative results that left the club in last place of the Western Conference table.

Assistant coach Chris Little will take over on an interim basis as the Rapids search for a permanent successor.

"We’re incredibly grateful to Robin for his commitment to the club and for what he achieved during his time here as head coach," said Colorado Rapids President Pádraig Smith.

"This was a difficult decision but one we felt was necessary to best position the club to return to the playoffs and ultimately compete for trophies. We thank Robin for his four years of dedicated work and we wish him nothing but the best in the future."

Fraser joined the Rapids in August 2019, before going on to compile a 47-48-34 record across all competitions during his time at the helm. He also led the club to consecutive postseason appearances in 2021 and 2022.

But 2023 saw a decline, with the Rapids racking up just three victories in the last 26 matches. The team sits in last place with a shocking 19 points and 3W-13L-10D record heading into the final stretch of the Major League Soccer campaign.

Little will take over in an attempt to salvage the season.

The interim manager holds a U.S. Soccer Pro License and previously served as head coach of Tacoma Defiance during the club’s time in the USL Championship and Director of Coaching for the Seattle Sounders FC Academy. He also worked as head coach of Elon University and Director of Coaching and Player Development for the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association.

Little is set to lead the Rapids for the first time on September 16 when facing the New England Revolution at DSG Park.
