In response to player feedback, Treyarch Studios has banned Cluster Mines and Bomb Drones in Warzone 2 Ranked Play to make the mode more competitive.

After less than two weeks, Treyarch Studios has banned Cluster Mines and Bomb Drones in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Ranked.

Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded finally released Warzone 2 Ranked Play after teasing the mode for months. Players can progress through the same eight Skill Divisions present in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, and earn SR based on kills, placement, assists, and total squad kills.

As the new mode unfolds, players have been vocal about their disdain for Cluster Mines and Bomb Drones. The killstreaks require little skill and lessen the competitive nature of a Ranked playlist. Thankfully, the developers were quick to remove the frustrating items.

Based on negative player feedback, Treyarch Studios released updated Warzone 2 Patch Notes that officially restricted Cluster Mines and Bomb Drones in Ranked Play.

Treyarch Studios stated, "Restrictions have been updated to include the Cluster Mine and Bomb Drone." They continued, "Both killstreaks will no longer drop from loot containers, and the Revive Pistol will replace the Cluster Mine in Buy Stations."

Although the community praised the swift removal of the overpowered killstreaks, Treyarch Studios warned fans that "restricted items may return" in the future. Until the Cluster Mine and Bomb Drone receive serious balancing, they will have no place in Ranked Play.
