Here is how the assault rifles stack up in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 1 in December 2022.

Our Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 weapon tier list for December 2022 is here to go over which of the guns are the best to use now that the new meta has settled down a bit once again after the launch of Season 1.

Since the initial Season 1 patch, players have continued to carve out what the meta is, and it's truly starting to shape up. As such, here is how the assault rifles stack up in Warzone 2 Season 1 in December 2022.

Warzone 2 Assault Rifle Tier List: December 2022

S Tier

In the S Tier at the moment are the two ARs that you'll almost certainly be seeing streamers or pro players using if they aren't running the RPK: the TAQ-56 and the Kastov 762. While the Kastov 762 is a little CR-56 AMAX-ish in that it maximizes damage for those who don't mind dealing with a bit more recoil, the TAQ-56 does seem to be a near-perfect gun at the moment for most all-around.

A Tier

These two weapons in the A Tier are certainly competitive options as well, but just aren't quite as good as some of the other options at the moment. The Lachman-556 has been praised by many for its laser-beam-like accuracy, but it does seem pointless to use it over the TAQ-56 at the moment as it's slightly outclassed. Meanwhile, the Kastov-74u is a great sniper support option, but might be flying under the radar more than it should thanks to the akimbo P890s, Fennec 45 and Lachmann Sub simply being outstanding up close.

B Tier

In the B Tier are three assault rifles that, for whatever reason, not many are talking about them. Perhaps it's because of how great the options above have been so far, but you just don't often see players using these. For now, the M13B, M4 and STB 556 do appear to be decent options but have yet to break their way into the meta.

C Tier

Lastly, in the C Tier are two assault rifles that can confidently be considered to be behind in the meta race at the moment. Similar to its standing in Modern Warfare II, it is quite questionable as to why the Kastov 545 is in the game in the first place considering there are three other ARs in the Kastovia weapon family that are simply better. Meanwhile, as has long been the case with burst weapons in COD, unfortunately, the M16 is simply not worth burning a loadout slot on.
