Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison issued an apology after he was cited for speeding and reckless driving on Thursday.

Earlier this week, there was some concerning news regarding Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison.

On Thursday, Addison was spotted by police driving on Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Minn. in his Lamborghini, but was going 140 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, per an incident report filed by the Minnesota State Patrol. Addison was cited for speeding and reckless driving, but not arrested. The investigation is reportedly still ongoing. The Vikings released a statement shortly after news broke, saying that they were aware of the situation and that they were "gathering additional information."

On Friday night, one day after news broke of his speeding incident, Addison released a statement through the media, saying, "Yesterday morning I made a mistake and used poor judgment. I recognize and own that. I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry."

According to an article on the topic from ESPN's Kevin Seifert, drivers who are traveling over 100 mph could get their licenses revoked for a minimum of six months.

Addison played this past season with the USC Trojans after transferring over from Pittsburgh. In his lone year playing with Heisman Trophy winner and quarterback Caleb Williams, Addison recorded 59 receptions for 875 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games played. With that, he declared for the NFL Draft, where he had strong odds of being selected in the first round.

After a run on wide receivers, the Vikings selected Addison with the 23rd overall pick. With that, he is added to the depth chart behind Justin Jefferson and did fill a void after the team released Adam Thielen.
