Today's USMNT news includes rumors on Weston McKennie's future, Gio Reyna was on the scoresheet for Borussia Dortmund again but Ethan Horvath suffered a defeat in the Championship playoffs.

USMNT news: Weston McKennie's future

Weston McKennie was involved in a spirited Leeds United performance at Elland Road yesterday. Sam Allardyce's side managed a surprise 2-2 against Newcastle United who are chasing a top-four place.

The result keeps Leeds in the fight to avoid relegation but they still have two tough games remaining against West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur. The Yorkshire side also needs other results to go their way, so will still be expected to go down.

Brenden Aaronson also featured against the Magpies but Tyler Adams remained on the sidelines. Allardyce also admitted that Adams is unlikely to feature again this season.

Fabrizio Romano speaking on the Here We Go podcast shed light on McKennie's future. "If Leeds will get relegated, it's going to be really difficult to see McKennie staying at Leeds. There's a chance for McKennie to return to Juventus (his parent club) at the end of the season. Let's see the manager's situation.

"If (Massimiliano) Allegri stays, the feeling is that Juventus will put McKennie again on the market in the summer. Otherwise, with a new coach, let's see what's going to happen. Leeds' relegation battle is a crucial point to understand the future of McKennie."

Even if Leeds does stay up, then we still do not know who will be their manager will be going forward. Allardyce was only brought in until the end of the season and after a tough campaign, there will likely be many changes at the club.

USMNT news: Gio Reyna scores again

Gio Reyna came off the bench to score for Borussia Dortmund in a 5-2 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach. The USMNT forward now had seven goals in 20 Bundesliga matches this season. Fellow American Joe Scally was left on the bench for Monchengladbach.

Dortmund remain just one point behind Bayern Munich in the league. Bayern defeated Schalke 04 6-0 yesterday. There are just two games remaining for each side in the Bundesliga, so the title remains in Thomas Tuchel's side's hands.

Bayern still have to play RB Leipzig who are currently fourth and then mid-table Koln. Whilst Dortmund's remaining fixtures are against Augsburg who are not safe from relegation yet and Mainz who have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe.

USMNT news: Ethan Horvath's playoff agony

Ethan Horvath conceded twice as his Luton Town side lost 2-1 to Sunderland in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final at the Stadium of Light. The American goalkeeper was not to blame for either of the Black Cats' goals.

Amad Diallo scored a wonder strike from outside the box to equalize, before Trai Hume's bullet header put them in the lead. The tie is not over, as they still need to play the return leg at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday.

Horvath is on loan at Luton from Nottingham Forest and the USMNT player is yet to play in the Premier League. In order to get promoted the Hatters need to turn this tie around and beat Coventry or Middlesbrough in the final at Wembley.
