The Minnesota Twins are sitting at just 27-26, but that's good enough to lead the lowly AL Central, holding a one game lead on the Detroit Tigers.

Now, they'll take on the Houston Astros in a three-game series that will begin on Memorial Day.

The Astros are surprisingly not leading the AL West, a division they've won in five of the last season years. Instead, they're trailing the Texas Rangers by two games with a 31-21 record.

Let's take a peak at the odds for today's Memorial Day action.

Twins vs. Astros odds, run line, and total

Twins vs. Astros prediction and pick

Sonny Gray has been absolutely lights out this season, sporting the best ERA in the Majors through the first two months of the season. His 1.82 ERA leads all starting pitchers in MLB and he has allowed more than two runs in just one of his 10 starts in 2023.

He already has one start against the Astros, allowing only one earned run in 7.0 innings against them on April 7th, which resulted in a 3-2 win for the Twins. I have trouble justifying a bet against Minnesota today, especially considering the Twins are underdogs.

It's also worth noting the Astros offense has been subpar this month, ranking 19th in OPS in May, only one spot above the Twins who come in at 20th.

I see no reason to not back the Twins as underdogs on Memorial Day. Let's trust Sonny Gray to get the job done.
