Tubi, the ad-support video-streaming service from Fox, has a lot of movies and shows you can watch, but finding something new that piques your interest can be difficult. So it's going to let you ask ChatGPT for recommendations via its new Rabbit AI.

Tubi itself rocketed in popularity in recent years, partly thanks to that extensive collection of movies and shows. It doesn't hurt that, as long as you can put up with ads, the service is free. With the rising cost of Netflix, Disney+, and other streaming services, it's easy to feel that cord-cutting doesn't save money. But finding something to watch on Tubi leaves much to be desired.

With Tubi's Rabbit AI, you can use natural language to ask ChatGPT for recommendations. Swap clunky "action movie, recent" searches of the past for things like "find me funny shark movies." You can get descriptive or niche; if anything in Tubi's extensive collection suits your interest, it should show up.

With each search, Rabbit AI should provide 20 results. Once you find something to watch, either save it to a list (dubbed Rabbit Holes in a demo video) or play it immediately.

"One in five streamers binge watch because it's convenient or easier than searching for another show as time spent looking is usually a mix of scrolling, maybe bickering over whether to watch a comedy or a horror movie," says Blake Bassett, Senior Director of Product at Tubi. "At Tubi we're uniquely situated to find content for viewers that's specific to the moment they're in because of our large library and our personalization and machine learning algorithms. With Rabbit AI we're making the content discovery experience fun again."

Rabbit AI is powered by ChatGPT-4 and can search Tubi's library of over 200,000 movies and TV episodes. But you may not have access to it right away. Tubi is currently rolling it out as a beta on iOS devices, and it should become broadly available in the next few weeks.

ChatGPT Plus subscribers can get a headstart on web access when the ChatGPT plugin for Tubi rolls out today. Plugins are only accessible to those with a $20-per-month ChatGPT Plus account.
