Nicki Minaj allegedly approached a female security guard and 'made her cry' as a concert-goer broke through the security barricade

FRANKFURT, GERMANY: The security guard suing Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty over an alleged backstage assault has accused the rapper of throwing a shoe at him. It all ensued when the security guard, Thomas Weidenmuller, confronted Minaj for screaming at a security guard in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2019.

In the newly filed court declaration in his battery lawsuit, Weidenmuller has detailed the incident. At the time, Weidenmuller worked as a security team member for the "Nicki Wrld Tour," RadarOnline reported. According to the guard, a member of the audience broke through the security barricade and managed to reach the stage while Nicki Minaj was performing at an event. He further stated that the fan did not harm Nicki Minaj and only danced on stage before being escorted away.

'Even if she was screaming obscenities'

After the performance, Minaj and her group approached a female security guard who was positioned on the stage. Weidenmuller, who was close, saw Minaj make the woman cry as she recorded her asking for an apology and an explanation of what went wrong.

"At first, Weidenmuller advised both of the other two security personnel that they should silently listen to Minaj’s complaints, even if she was screaming obscenities and falsely accusing them of endangering her," the suit said, as per the media outlet. But ultimately, he claimed that he intervened and opposed Minaj speaking in this manner to the other security officers.

Minaj threw a shoe at him, but it missed

He claimed that during their argument, Minaj threw a shoe at him, but it missed. She then proceeded to tell Petty about what went down. Weidenmuller claimed that as Minaj "screamed obscenities" at him, Petty, in the meantime, "repositioned himself out of my eyesight." Petty, "without warning, struck me in the face." It stunned and disoriented him, and because of the "surprise nature" of the attack, "I am not sure as to whether Petty hit me with his fist or with a weapon," Weidenmuller declared as per the publication.

In the alleged attack, Weidenmuller suffered a broken jaw and had to undergo multiple surgeries. "I now have five plates in my jaw, and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed," he said. Following the attack, Weidenmuller sought immediate medical attention from the medics present at the venue but was told that it could be provided only at the hospital due to the "severity of the injuries."

"The pain I felt in the moment was far more extreme than any pain I had ever experienced in my life or have felt since that day. I felt a blinding pain in my head, neck, face, and jaw. I could tell in that instant that something was seriously wrong with my jaw," Weidenmuller said.
