'I only hang out with, like, gay men. So they come over, and we do a whole class based off of Nicki Minaj or we have a Britney series,' Miley Cyrus said in an interview

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Miley Cyrus has achieved a lot of accolades and worldwide attention in her short music career. The 30-year-old pop star initially gained her fame by playing the character Hannah Montanna but later shifted her talents to the music world where she gained even a lot more attention than anyone could have ever imagined. Dubbed the "Pop Chameleon", Cyrus has always been vocal about various issues, especially when it comes to sexuality.

During an interview with Vogue, the wildly talented TV princess turned pop star said that she only likes to hang out with gay men. “I only hang out with, like, gay men. So they come over, and we do a whole class based off of Nicki Minaj or we have a Britney series. I have a Madonna 'Vogue' series, which is doing the entire bow choreography with, like, our little weights," Cyrus said.

Miley Cyrus unveils her new look, ditches platinum blonde do for more natural brown locks

This may not seem to be shocking to Cyrus' fans as she has been an active supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and their rights. Her 2010 song titled 'My Heart Beats for Love' was reportedly written for one of her gay friends. The 'Wrecking Ball' singer has previously claimed that London is her favorite place to perform due to its extensive gay scene.

Moreover, she also has an equals sign tattooed on her ring finger in support of same-sex marriage. Even after marrying actor Chris Hemsworth, Cyrus went on to state publicly that she identifies herself as a queer.

Miley Cyrus is a pansexual

In an interview with Paper Magazine, Cyrus recalled her conversation with her mother Tish Cyrus about her sexuality at the age of 14. "I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said 'I love them. I love them like I love boys.' And it was so hard for her to understand," she said.

"She didn't want me to be judged and she didn't want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any God. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has," Cyrus continued, adding, "I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl." Cyrus came out as pansexual in 2015.

'I didn't understand my own gender'

In October 2016, Cyrus told Variety, "My whole life, I didn't understand my own gender and my own sexuality. I always hated the word bisexual because that's even putting me in a box. I don't ever think about someone being a boy or someone being a girl." She added, "My first relationship in my life was with a chick. I grew up in a very religious Southern family. Once I understood my gender more, which was unassigned, then I understood my sexuality more. I was like, 'Oh — that's why I don't feel straight and I don't feel gay. It's because I'm not."

'Being a lesbian isn't bad'

The singer spoke about her sexuality as early as in 2013 when she told the Toronto Sun, "Everyone said I was a lesbian but I'm like, being a lesbian isn't bad. So if you think I look like I'm a lesbian, I'm not offended. You can call me much worse. Being a lesbian is a compliment."

Cyrus further revealed her coming to her own sexuality. "I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age," she said. "Everything that's legal, I'm down with. Yo, I'm down with any adult — anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me," Cyrus added.

The longtime LGBTQ+ advocate has never refrained from expressing her candid views on sexuality. She even once tweeted about dreams of locking lips with Katy Perry.

Miley Cyrus opened up about her past relationships

In an interview with the Associated Press in 2015, Cyrus explained that not all her previous relationships were heterosexual. "The reason that people get married sometimes can be old-fashioned, but I think the reason we got married isn't old-fashioned — I actually think it's kind of New Age," she told Vanity Fair following her marriage to Hemsworth. "We're redefining, to be f------ frank, what it looks like for someone that's a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship," she said.

Cyrus continued, "What I preach is: People fall in love with people, not gender, not looks, not whatever. What I'm in love with exists on almost a spiritual level. It has nothing to do with sexuality. Relationships and partnerships in a new generation — I don't think they have so much to do with sexuality or gender. Sex is actually a small part, and gender is a very small, almost irrelevant part of relationships."

"Us gays and lesbians do NOT support miley"

One tweeted, "Wait i thiught she hated us what," while another wrote, "As a catholic heterosexual wealthy woman, I do not agree with this Miley." "So how does she meet em? She picks them up in a gay bar or something?" one user asked.
