NBC anchor Darryl Forges and his wife, Kia, named the little girl Kai Viola Forges

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NBC reporter, Darryl Forges, has an excellent reason to celebrate. Forges, who is a morning reporter for NBC 6 News in Miami, Florida, and his wife, Kia, welcomed their first child recently. They named their precious daughter, Kai Viola Forges.

Before joining NBC 6, Forges was a reporter for the CBS/ABC Affiliate in Montgomery, Alabama. In his early days, he started in the South Alabama Bureau and quickly worked his way up the ladder to become the morning reporter and fill-in anchor position at the studio. While working in Montgomery, he won several awards, including an Alabama Broadcasters Association award and two Associated Press Awards. Many happy fans congratulated Forges for starting his new journey as a father.

When news about the birth of Forges' daughter broke, his ardent fans couldn’t contain their excitement. They were quick to send in their wishes and congratulations to the new parents who were brimming with joy. "Yessir! Congratulations Mr. Darryl," one fan wrote while after seeing the photos. Another wrote, "She is BEAUTIFUL!”, while a fan chimed in with, "Such a beauty!” “So happy for you and your family! I know you're going to be a great father," a viewer added, the wishes continued to come in for the new parents.

'1 Year Down - Forever to Go'

It’s only just been a year since Forges and Kia got married and started a new journey together. The reporter took to Instagram and shared a heartwarming post on their first anniversary, which again received a lot of wishes and congratulations from his ardent fans. “Wow! A year already! Happiest Anniversary!" one fan commented. "Happy Anniversary!! God bless your union & lil family forever!" another person added while the best of the lot was, ”Quickest year ever. Congrats y’all!"

Forges has covered several historic events, including President Obama's visit to Selma for the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday. He has interviewed several key political figures and media moguls including Oprah Winfrey, John Legend and Alabama Governor Robert Bentley in the past.
