It appears Blizzard will indeed be dropping several major nerfs in Overwatch 2 shortly.

Blizzard is planning to release a hero balance update for Overwatch 2 on Nov. 15, the studio announced Friday.

After initially mentioning that it did not expect to make any immediate balance changes until the launch of Season 2, it appears Blizzard will indeed be dropping several major nerfs in Overwatch 2 shortly.

"There are some Hero balance adjustments we’d like to make sooner," Blizzard's blog post reads. "As promised, we’re focused on some tactical adjustments meant to bring current standouts like D.Va, Zarya, Genji, and Sombra more in line with the rest of the roster."

Here are the official Hero adjustments Blizzard plans to release in its next patch:

Sombra

Genji

Zarya

D.Va

Kiriko

Ultimately, it's certainly not surprising that these five Heroes will be tuned down just a bit. However, what is perhaps eyebrow-raising is that Sojourn is nowhere to be named, potentially leaving her right at the top of the DPS meta moving forward.

Season 2 of Overwatch 2 is expected to begin on Dec. 6, complete with a new hero and a new map.
