Whether or not you should stab Gene in Squanch Games' newest title High on Life.

Squanch Games' newly released title, High On Life, is a colorful sci-fi adventure filled with a wide variety of unique challenges. One of these is the option to kill Gene, an NPC who first appears during your first bounty job.

The game, which was created by Justin Roiland, the co-created Rick and Morty, stays true to its premise of aliens wanting to "get high on humanity." Players of the game may be curious to know if, unlike the free-spirited nature of Rick and Morty, High On Life's narrative will involve consequences for certain actions.

Should You Stab Gene in High On Life?

Notably, since Knifey often prompts you to stab certain characters you come across, Gene is no different. Interestingly, if you choose to stab Gene, you'll earn an achievement called "Don’t Knife The Hand That Feeds." Afterward, Gene will somehow be unaffected by this action, mentioning that he's been through worse.

Ultimately, the only outcome of stabbing Gene will be the achievement you earn. As a result, it is completely up to you if you want to stab Gene for completion's sake or to just see what happens.

Keep in mind that this is the only opportunity to stab Gene and earn the achievement. If you choose not to and eventually leave the house, the option and achievement will be unattainable.
