Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to release in March, but a VR mode is now also in development for the PS VR2.

A remake of one of Capcom's most iconic third-person shooters, Resident Evil 4, is set to release on March 24, 2023. The game was announced back in June 2022, as part of PlayStation's State of Play. It will feature the same "over-the-shoulder" third-person shooter-style gameplay from the original, but take some cues from the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3.

One brand new feature coming to Resident Evil 4 is a VR mode, currently in development for the recently released PS VR2. The news comes alongside the release of the Resident Evil Village VR mode, available as a free download for PlayStation 5 owners of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.

As for Resident Evil 4, it's unlikely that the VR mode will launch alongside the main game. Given that development for the mode has just begun, players can anticipate its release well after the game's launch.

Capcom has revealed that the Resident Evil 4 VR mode will be available as a free DLC for owners of the game. Not much information has been revealed outside of its price, but Capcom has encouraged fans to "stay tuned" for more info.

In the meantime, PS VR2 owners can check out the Resident Evil Village VR mode through its free demo, available for download via the PlayStation Store.
