The Texas Rangers have been one of the biggest surprises through the first two months of the MLB season.

They were considered by many to be a borderline playoff team, but now we're approaching June and the Rangers have the second best record in the American League. Only the Tampa Bay Rays are higher in the standings.

They're starting their week off with a three-game interleague series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Game 2 will take place on Tuesday.

Let's dive into the odds for the game and then I'll break down my best bet.

Rangers vs. Pirates odds, run line, and total

Rangers vs. Pirates prediction and pick

The Rangers success this season has been no fluke. They've been one of the best offenses in baseball and lead MLB in OPS in the month of May.

Their OPS has been even better when facing left-handed pitchers. Their OPS improves from .783 against righties to .841 against lefties. Now, they get to face a left-handed starter in Rich Hill.

Hill's 3.80 ERA may not be as good as it seems when you take a look at his Field Independent Pitching number of 4.62.

The Pirates also got off to a hot start to their season, but things have come crashing down. They had the third best OPS in March and April, but now rank dead last in that stat in May with an OPS of .593.

Yikes.

The Rangers are for real whereas the Pirates have been proven to be pretenders.

Give me Texas on the moneyline on Tuesday.
