When asked about his appreciation for quarterback Aaron Rodgers' ability, New York Jets wide receiver made sure to give props to Dak Prescott.

The New York Jets are the team with the most buzz heading into the 2023 season. That's because they have a quarterback now, and a great one, in Aaron Rodgers. With that, the expectations are high for Rodgers to not only help lead the team back to the playoffs for the first time since 2010 but to also win their second Super Bowl title. Rodgers will have some familiar faces from his Green Bay Packers days helping him out, one of whom being Randall Cobb.

While speaking with reporters during organized team activities on Wednesday, Cobb was asked whether he felt appreciation for how special Aaron Rodgers was before leaving the Packers initially. While Cobb said yes, he also credited the quarterbacks he played with after leaving the Packers. One of those quarterbacks was none other than Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys.

Randall Cobb calls Dak Prescott 'elite' during Jets press conference

Cowboys fans, at least defenders of Prescott, will be happy with Cobb's comments.

Cobbs' first run with the Packers lasted eight seasons, and he became a free agent after 2018. From there, Cobb signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Cowboys and to catch passes from Prescott.

In their one season together, Cobb caught 55 passes for 828 yards and three touchdowns on 83 targets. Those 828 yards were the most he put up in a season since 2015. Prescott, meanwhile, threw for 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while completing 65.1 percent of his passes. The Cowboys missed out on the playoffs after finishing with an 8-8 record.

This past season, Prescott did have his struggles, as he suffered a broken thumb on his throwing hand and led the league in interceptions with 15. Even so, he led the Cowboys to the playoffs and a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round. The thing is, Dallas' luck ran out, as they couldn't contend with the San Francisco 49ers' defense in the Divisional Round. It was once again another season since 1995 in which the team couldn't make it to the NFC Championship Game.

Prescott is in the third year of his four-year, $160 million contract with the Cowboys, and the team did give him some help. While CeeDee Lamb did develop into a legitimate top pass-catching option, the absence of Amari Cooper hurt the team. So, the team traded for Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans to add alongside Lamb and Michael Gallup.

When it comes to Prescott, Cobb feels that he is "elite."
