Premier League predictions for Gameweek 3 of the 2023/24 season, which includes Newcastle vs Liverpool, Arsenal vs Fulham, Chelsea vs Luton and more.

The second gameweek of the 2023/24 Premier League threw up all sorts of delicious narratives and fans are hoping for more of the same in the season's third week.

Three teams have perfect records at the top of the table - Brighton became the 53rd Premier League team ever to end a day at the summit - while others are already staring deep into the abyss of a long and unrewarding battle against relegation.

With plenty of fascinating match-ups to get excited about this week, here are 90min's predictions for gameweek three.

Premier League predictions: Week 3

Premier League action will kick off on a Friday night for the third consecutive gameweek when hapless Chelsea host expected whipping boys Luton. The Blues are in danger of failing to win any of their first three league games of a season since 1998.

The Argentinian's old club Tottenham have made a great start under Ange Postecoglou and face a trip to Bournemouth, where last season they went 2-0 down before earning a 3-2 comeback victory.

North London rivals Arsenal are also in action at 15:00 BST on Saturday. After recording a 1-0 triumph at Selhurst Park, the Gunners face a Fulham side they have never lost at home to in 30 league outings. The Cottagers were also the opposition when Leandro Trossard bagged three assists in one game last season.

Only Brighton (eight) have scored more Premier League goals so far than Brentford - tied with Newcastle and Aston Villa on five - and that clinical edge could prove pivotal against a Crystal Palace team. In a weird quirk, all four previous Premier League meetings between the sides have ended in draws.

Everton and Wolves are already marking themselves out as prime relegation candidates - both have conceded five goals each with only one strike scored between them - so nerves will be jangling among both sets of supporters at Goodison Park.

The last of Saturday's mid-afternoon kick-offs comes at Old Trafford, where Manchester United will host Nottingham Forest. With three points and two ropy performances, Erik ten Hag's side will hope they can replicate last season's performances against Forest - the sides faced each other four times thanks to a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final and United won every meeting.

Brighton ended a gameweek at the summit of the Premier League for the first time ever after their win over Wolves. Saturday's late game sees the Seagulls take on fellow Europa League competitors West Ham, who surprised Chelsea 3-1 as new signing James Ward-Prowse helped himself to two assists on debut.

When Sunday's action comes around, Vincent Kompany's Burnley will be a little undercooked in comparison to Aston Villa, who have now played three games in all competitions compared to the Clarets' one. The Villans have won on two of their last three trips to Turf Moor.

Manchester City haven't lost in ten prior Premier League meetings with Sheffield United, a record that will likely continue even with the absence of star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. Pep Guardiola will also become the fastest manager to reach 200 wins in the league should his side emerge victorious at Bramall Lane.

The weekend's slate comes to an end on Sunday when Liverpool visit Newcastle. The Reds have not lost to the Magpies in 13 league games and were surprise victors in this fixture last season, grabbing a 2-0 result at St James' Park.
