As Eurogamer reports, Bethesda has had to clarify who will and won't receive a disc when purchasing a physical copy of Starfield. It turns out PC gamers won't have the option of a disc regardless of which version they buy, whereas Xbox owners will only receive one if they buy a specific version of the game.

The Starfield pre-order page lists all available versions of the game, which includes:

For the Standard Edition, Xbox owners buying the physical copy will get a disc whereas PC gamers only get a game code. It's also worth noting that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play this version as part of their subscription.

All other versions of the game will not include a physical disc. The physical version of the Premium Edition includes a steelbook display case and constellation patch, but only from "participating retail stores." The Constellation Edition adds a Starfield Chronomark Watch & Case alongside the steelbook and patch, but also includes a Credit Stick with the game code laser-etched on to it.

Starfield is set to launch on Sept. 6, but pre-ordering the game can secure you five days of early access (Premium and Constellation Editions). However, PC gamers need to remember that Starfield requires an SSD to play, so consider if you need to upgrade before placing that pre-order.
