Bruce Willis' wife Emma Heming Willis got real about what's out there in terms of treatment options for dementia patients

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis is speaking out once again about her husband's dementia prognosis. "When you live in the world of dementia, you know that options are slim," Heming Willis said on Instagram next to a picture of her and her buddy, Max Lugavere. But other people won't accept it, which is how change is brought about, and I got to see the beauty in that last night.

Lugavere's recent film, 'Little Empty Boxes', which chronicles his mother's battle with dementia, received praise from Heming Willis. She commended him "for being so brave and vulnerable" with his experience "and spotlighting the importance of brain health." "His love for his mother is powerful. His motivation to find answers from leading health experts is inspiring and to be so gracious to share that information is a true blessing," she wrote.

Internet backs Bruce Willis' wife Emma Heming as she slams claims Demi Moore has MOVED IN

‘You're a warrior’

Willis and Heming Willis' fans flocked to her comments section, including Lugavere, who posted, "You're a warrior, and I'm so proud to be in this fight with you," along with a heart emoji. Demi Moore, Willis' ex-wife, also made a comment, writing, "look forward to seeing it!" Lugavere and Chris Newhard's documentary, directed by both, focuses on Lugavere's journey as he "educates himself on everything he can do to help" his mother. The movie touched Heming Willis so much that she declared "it would be an absolute disservice" if it didn't receive a significant distribution.

Fans who have also had to cope with caring for a loved one with dementia were also supporters. One of these fans wrote on her website, "It is something no one understands until they are living with it or have lived through it. I always will support all you do."

‘It was also very difficult to talk about’

Heming Willis has previously discussed her difficulties adjusting to her husband's illness, stating that taking care of someone with dementia can feel isolating. Emma also stated that it required effort for her to speak up about it because "it was also very difficult to talk about."

In March she shared on Instagram , "Honest to God, if you could look at my messages and my direct messages, you would think the entire world has dementia". "So many people now are coming to me and telling me, and I even have friends now, ‘You know, my grandmother, or my so-and-so had it,’ and I'm like, 'Why didn't I know?' We're not talking about it."

In March 2022, Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, a neurological condition that limits an individual's capacity to perceive or communicate speech. In February of this year, his family revealed that the aphasia was simply a symptom of his wider diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
