Microsoft is selling a range of replacement parts for Surface devices through its online store for "technically inclined consumers."

Parts are available for the Surface Pro 7, Pro 8, and Pro 9, Surface Laptop 3, Laptop 4, and Laptop 5, Laptop Go 2, and Laptop Studio, as well as the Surface Studio 2+. A full list of the parts being offered is available on the Microsoft blog post announcing their availability.

Making parts available to buy is just part of Microsoft's commitment to offering consumer-repairable devices. Back in 2021, it partnered with iFixit to make official Surface repair tools available, which come in very handy when attempting to successfully work with the adhesive these devices usually contain. There's also a range of Surface service guides to help carry out repairs successfully.

Microsoft is making replacement parts available in the US, Canada, and France first, with a promise that additional markets will be added in the future.

The options for getting your electronic devices repaired are slowly expanding. Last month the governor of Minnesota signed a sweeping right-to-repair bill, iFixit recently announced it will start offering genuine parts and repair guides for Logitech devices, and Samsung's self-repair program added the Galaxy S22 and some Galaxy Books to its supported devices list.
