The Suns are unlikely to trade Deandre Ayton this offseason, according to an insider. This is in response to low offers for him.

According to radio host John Gambadoro, the Suns are "unlikely" to trade Deandre Ayton.

"I am sticking with what I have been saying these last few days. It is very unlikely the Suns will trade Deandre Ayton," Gambadoro tweeted on Friday.

This would be a horrible thing for the team due to the fact that they do not have a lot of depth and Ayton was their best shot at getting quality depth.

This is a team that doesn't have a power/small forward currently (depending on where you put Kevin Durant). Phoenix needs depth going forward. A good realistic outcome for the Suns, when it came to the idea of trading Ayton, would be getting two role players. They would be looking for players in the front court on good salaries going forward.

This also follows other reports that said Ayton does not have a lot of trade value.

What are the Suns' options for depth if they do not trade Deandre Ayton?

If the Suns do not trade Deandre Ayton, this team will not have depth. The team probably regrets matching Ayton's offer sheet last offseason. If they aren't able to trade Ayton, this is the roster that they are set with. They are not able to trade any of their picks or swaps going forward.

Without depth for this team, they will probably have the same fate as the Kevin Durant/James Harden era in Brooklyn. That team did not end up making it past the second round of the playoffs due to the fact that they did not have any depth.

If the Suns have to do it again, then they would have traded Ayton to the Pacers last offseason for peanuts. Now, this team is stuck without any role players after making two moves that gave them star power. It just got harder to make good on the Kevin Durant era or make Bradley Beal's time with the team somewhat notable.
