The latest news on Mason Mount's injury progress as the midfielder faces another spell out of the Manchester United team.

To say that Mason Mount's move to Manchester United has been a disaster thus far would be an understatement.

Admittedly, the midfielder, who was signed for £60m from Chelsea last summer, needs more time to adjust to life at Old Trafford, but he hasn't made a good first impression on Erik ten Hag or Man Utd supporters.

Things have seemingly gone from bad to worse for the 24-year-old, who is now set for a spell on the sidelines after missing the Red Devils' recent victory against Everton with a fresh injury concern.

As Mount's unlucky spell in Manchester continues, let's take a look at when he could return to action.

When will Mason Mount return from injury?

Mount has already found himself on the treatment table this season. Having finished last campaign on the sidelines with Chelsea, the midfielder also missed five games across August and September this term.

The England international has struggled to make his way back into Ten Hag's starting lineup after his recovery, often finding himself on the bench in the Premier League and Europe.

With Christian Eriksen and Casemiro missing, it would have been a great opportunity for Mount to establish himself with a run of games in the starting lineup, but he has joined his teammates on the sidelines instead.

Mount picked up a calf strain in training and was absent for the clash with Everton last Sunday. While there is not an exact timeframe on his recovery, Man Utd fear that he could be out for roughly a month. That would put him in a race against time to feature again before the end of the year.

Speaking about Mount's struggles prior to his new injury setback, Ten Hag said: "You can look for reasons behind [Man Utd's form], there are reasons when you picked up injuries, the back four is not working, you have to make a lot of subs in the back four.

"That [will] have an effect on the balance in the midfield, the front players, also there we have to make a lot of changes, so the routines are not there.

"So still I think he [Mount] had his moments when I think he did very well, but it stopped in the moment he got injured."

If Mount is sidelined for a number of weeks, it's only likely to hamper his progression at Old Trafford further, while also providing Ten Hag with some selection headaches in upcoming matches given his lack of midfield options.
