It's the rubber match between the Seattle Mariners and LA Angels in Anaheim and it's an important one as they battle to be the third team in a top heavy AL West. Seattle evened the series with a 6-2 win yesterday to get to 31-32 and the Angels are 35-32, third in the division.

For the finale, the Mariners will go with Bryce Miller who desperately needs a bounce back start, on the mound, and the Angels will counter with Griffin Canning. Miller is 3-3 with a 4.46 ERA and Canning is 4-2 with a 4.47 ERA.

Let's take a look at the odds for this one as the Mariners are the slightest of favorites on the road.

Mariners vs. Angels odds, run line and total

Mariners vs. Angels prediction and pick

Vegas is counting on a bounce back from Bryce Miller who has been abysmal his last two times out. He came into the fifth start of his career with a 1.15 ERA and promptly allowed eight runs on 11 hits in 4.2 innings against the Yankees. Then on June 4, five days later he gave up seven runs on eight hits to the Rangers. His first start he had 10 strikeouts against Oakland, but since then his strikeout stuff has disappeared. He has 33 strikeouts in 38.1 innings and only five total in his last two starts.

Miller was really good at the start of the season, but it looks like that guy might be gone. He is a rookie and his confidence has to be at an all time low right now. In June the Angels are 14th in OPS, .729 and aren't quite the Rangers, the best offensive team in baseball, which he faced last time out. However, they are still a good offense and Miller's numbers were helped a lot by facing Oakland twice and Detroit once in his first five starts. I think Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout and the Angels will be much tougher than those awful offenses and could give Miller trouble again.

The Mariners offensively are 22nd in OPS this month and 24th in runs scored with just 26. They don't look like the same lineup from last season and I feel comfortable fading them and fading Miller until I see him return to form.
