Aaron Rodgers and the Jets need Breece Hall to pick up where he left off before his ACL injury. It looks like his speed certainly hasn't been impacted.

When Aaron Rodgers decided to throw his lot in with the New York Jets, he wasn't signing on to play for a bottom-dweller or even mid-tier NFL team. He joined a team with some of the brightest young talent in the league so he could win and win now.

Questions about the Jets ability to match those expectations, to win big in the immediate term, haven't been without merit, but they get a whole lot more quiet with each step towards the start of the season. Especially with updates like the one head coach Robert Saleh gave on running back Breece Hall.

Mach 20: Jets RB Breece Hall has not lost any of his speed

Hall, who is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in October, opened training camp on the Physically Unable to Peform list. He's clearly not ready to play football just yet. However, there should be no concerns about that knee injury putting a dent in his speed.

Salah told reporters that GPS tracked Hall as reaching 23 miles per hour running off to the side of the practice field, per The Athletic (subscription required).

As Adam Levitan of Establish The Run pointed out, then-Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell set the mark for ball carrier speed last year at 22.1 miles per hour.

So, yeah, Hall is still plenty fast in a straight line.

Of course, Campbell was running in full pads and Hall is still running in shorts, but it's still clear the running back still has the top gear to be a difference maker in the NFL, even with a surgically reconstructed knee.

As a rookie, Hall rushed for 463 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 218 yards and a touchdown on 19 catches. The young back looked like a Rookie of the Year candidate on a team that produced the actual Offensive Rookie of the Year in wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Rodgers has got to feel good about the fact that he'll be throwing to Wilson and, in due time, handing off to Hall in 2023.
