LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A wedding guest recently enraged social media users by arriving for her friend's special day in a flimsy white gown that revealed her knickers. Another mother uploaded a photo of the guest's "inappropriate" outfit, which violated more than one wedding custom, including not wearing white - which is reserved for the bride.

The asymmetrical form and extended back of the dress gave the impression that it had a frilly train. Its delicate nature and thigh-high cut nicely showed the woman's white bodysuit below the dress. Many people called the dress "horrible" and "outrageous," and they couldn't believe she was permitted to attend the black tie event.

The dress is similar to one sold for $15 on AliExpress. It is also available in a variety of colors, such as beige, pink, red, and black. The bride's mother posted a photo of the unidentified guest to a popular wedding-shaming Facebook group. "That is not that bride. And yes, that seems to be a body suit under the gauze fabric," she captioned the image, as reported by Daily Mail.

'Not what you wear to a friend's wedding'

"It was pretty. The lady was gorgeous and edgy. But that's not what you wear to a friend's wedding, in my opinion," the mom added under the post. Several others joined her to chastise the mystery woman. "That is not 'beautiful and edgy" That is what you wear to the pool!" a woman responded.

"It looks more like a bathing suit and coverup than something you should be wearing to a wedding," another added. Someone else commented, "I don't think this is appropriate even in another color. Everyone else seems to have taken into consideration what to wear, and nobody else seems to be in a see-through mesh swimsuit coverup passed off as a dress. Lazy."

Several others were shocked that someone would even contemplate wearing a white dress to a wedding, regardless of the design.

'That dress is horrible'

"I must admit I think that dress is horrible. Each to their own, I suppose, but what is it with the number of young people who think it's acceptable to wear a long white dress to a wedding?" a woman asked. "Y'all are getting too comfortable wearing white to weddings, and it shocks me without fail every time," a woman said. Another person wrote, "There is so much wrong with that outfit I don't have the energy to even begin."

Some backed the gown, but not the woman's decision to wear it to a wedding. "It's really cute, but she should've worn a different color and different shoes,' said one woman. "It could be a light blue or a mauve - maybe it just looks white in the lighting," a second stated.
