League of Legends Preseason 2023 jungle changes explained including the new items, Smite changes, pathing and more.

The jungle role has gone through many changes when compared to how it used to work before League of Legends Preseason 2023.

It appears that Riot Games, the developers behind League of Legends, want to make Jungle a more pleasant role to play for newcomers as a lot of the changes made are common complaints that people have had with the role before. If this sounds like you, read on as you might be pleasantly surprised by the changes League of Legends has made to the jungle role.

Here is everything we know about the Jungle role changes in League of Legends Preseason 2023.

League of Legends Preseason 2023 Jungle Explained

While a lot of the changes made to jungle camps are purely stats changes, there were changes made to the jungle to better help players understand what to do. The first of these changes is showing the recommended pathing for champions in the jungle. Having this clears up a lot of the confusion of having to find a jungle guide online.

As well, there are three new jungle items. The items are detailed below:

Mosstomper

Scorchclaw

Gustwalker

Smite is now 600 damage to monsters and minions. A new change is that the summoner spell will evolve twice per game. The evolutions are detailed below:

First Evolution

Final Evolution

The next major change is showing leash ranges for monster camps. Before, players would have to make an educated guess on how far a monster camp could be pulled out without resetting but now, players can see a ring on the ground showing exactly where the camp can be pulled to. While this is a nice change for new players, it comes at the cost of not being able to take double camps at the same time since the leash range has gotten smaller.

With these changes, players looking to break into the jungle role will have less tedious information to look up and can instead get to the meat of the game.
