Kenyan soldier killed in DR Congo rebel mortar attack

It is the first such death to be reported among the Kenyan troops since they joined the force last year.

A Kenyan soldier attached to the East African force in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo has been killed following an ambush by rebels.

DR Congo spokesman Patrick Muyaya told the BBC the soldier died on Tuesday during clashes between the regional forces and M23 rebels in Kibumba area.
