Jordi Alba is calling it quits on his international career.

Inter Miami full-back Jordi Alba has retired from international football and will not suit up for the Spanish national team again, according to a report from ESPN.

The 34-year-old is calling it quits with Spain after a storied career with La Roja, making 93 appearances across all competitions. Overall, he managed 10 goals and an impressive 22 assists in the process.

The Barcelona legend helped Spain conquer the 2012 European championship, and ended up lifting a trophy during his final game for his nation. Spain defeated Crotia 0-0 (4-5) to lift the UEFA Nations League title, with Jordi Alba captaining his country in the win and playing all 120 minutes.

Jordi Alba featured at the 2020 Euros as well as playing his part in Spain's FIFA World Cup campaigns in 2014, 2018 and 2022.

His retirement comes as the Spanish football federation are under fire after president Luis Rubiales was suspended and called to resign for kissing women's national team figure Jenni Heromoso without consent following the Women's World Cup final. Hermoso featured for Spain in the final against England and has condemned any reports claiming that the kiss was consensual.

Miami and Jordi Alba are set to take on Nashville SC in an MLS Eastern Conference showdown at DRV PNK Stadium on August 30. The two sides recently met on August 19, where Miami, with Jordi Alba in the starting lineup, edged Nashville 1-1 (11-10) to capture their first ever trophy in club history.
