Twenty-three Irish citizens have crossed into Egypt from Gaza, the Tánaiste (Irish deputy prime minister) Micheál Martin has said.
Speaking to reporters in Egypt, Mr Martin said it was "very welcome news" that some families with children had successfully crossed the Rafah checkpoint.
