Inter Miami and Charlotte FC will clash twice near the end of the 2023 season.

Inter Miami and Lionel Messi will take on Charlotte FC on October 18, after officials postponed the original August 20 due to the Herons' Leagues Cup run.

The two teams met earlier this Summer in the Leagues Cup quarter-finals, where Messi and company made light work against the North Carolina side, winning 4-0 before going on to capture the title a couple weeks later against Nashville SC.

Messi and the Herons, are no longer in the basement of the Eastern Conference, as they've moved up to 14th place in the table on 21 points with Charlotte on the outside looking in with 29 points in 12th place in the standings. Now, when the teams meet in October, their points totals and position in the table could look completely different.

The original date for Miami's home clash against Charlotte in MLS regular season action was set for August 20, but since one of the two teams were going to feature in either the third-place game or semi-final on August 19, it would've been impossible for them to turn around and play each other the following day.

The Herons will play host to the Crown on October 18 at DRV PNK Stadium, and that won't be the only time the two teams meet at the end of the season. Just three days later, Miami will travel up north to Bank of America Stadium to face off against Charlotte once again in MLS Matchday 34, also known as Decision Day.

The two sides are back in action on August 30, as Charlotte host Orlando City in what looks to be an interesting encounter, while Miami will also play at home against Nashville in a Leagues Cup final rematch.
