General Motors and Ford have in recent weeks said they would allow their electric-vehicle customers to use Tesla's charging network, in a move that could make the Elon Musk-led company's superchargers the industry standard.

Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) is more widely available and reliable than rival charging network CCS, which is backed by automakers such as Volkswagen and Hyundai Motor

Analysts and industry experts expect more makers of EVs and chargers to forge partnerships with Tesla as they look to take advantage of its several thousand charging stations in the United States.
