Bob Myers will not be returning to the team next season. What does this mean for the future of the Golden State Warriors?

Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that Bob Myers is stepping down as president and GM of the Golden State Warriors. It seems some of this is due to overall fatigue from Meyers (which is completely normal and understandable). Still, the Warriors' "two timelines" approach — which forced this title contender to preserve the future at the expense of the present — could be a contributing factor.

According to previous reports from Marc Stein, Myers will not take a job with a different team in the league. He may be looking to get into a different field of work and many beat reporters, including Tim Kawakami of the Athleticm, have suggested he will have a high-level position in another field entirely.

But if he wants to come back to the NBA, he'll have plenty of options. A lot of these teams have management that would be hard to let go of (including the Wizards who just hired a new president) but look for Myers to be highly desired if he is looking for another job.

Who will replace Bob Myers as Warriors GM?

This is a massive loss for the Warriors from a front-office perspective. Myers has been a huge positive influence over his time with the Warriors. As Woj has stated in his article, Joe Lacob will look in-house to find his replacement. Kirk Lacob, who was the Warriors G league GM and is currently a vice president of basketball operations would be a likely candidate.

The other candidate would be Mike Dunleavy Jr. It is possible that both of these candidates could have parts of the job that Bob Myers had. They could bring someone else to counter these two, but it seems like most of the new power structure is in place.
