As it shifts away from FIFA, Electronic Arts has pulled all of its FIFA titles from digital storefronts.

As noted by video game analyst MauroNL, gamers can no longer purchase any of EA's existing FIFA titles online via Steam, Epic Games, or the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch stores.

On Steam, there's a notice on each game that says EA requested that Valve pull the games from sale and search, Kotaku reports. On the other retailers, the games are listed as being unavailable for purchase, although they do show up in search.

To play the most recent FIFA 23, you'll have to sign up for EA Play, the company's $4.99-per-month game-subscription service. Players should still be able to download copies of older titles they already purchased. DLC for games as old as FIFA 14 are still on digital platforms as well, Kotaku notes, so existing players can still buy that and use it in their installed copies.

As IGN reports, "EA Sports often delists its older FIFA games, but the removal of FIFA 23 has raised eyebrows for coming so soon after the launch of the game."

EA hasn't commented on why the games were removed, but EA declined to renew its FIFA license last year, in part because of the billion-dollar fee. The latest iteration in the franchise is now known as EA Sports FC 24, which launches on Sept. 29.
