'The View' host Ana Navarro, who claimed that 'The Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner was ‘right down my alley’, expressed her disdain towards reality shows

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Golden Bachelor’ is trending in reality television at this moment as Gerry Turner, 71, is embarking on a new chapter of his life. The dating show was quick to become a hot topic on ‘The View’ as the hosts swooned over Turner, and appreciated his bravado for trying to find love once again.

Ana Navarro, who claimed that Turner was ‘right down my alley’, also expressed her disdain towards a series of reality shows. Navarro listed a plethora of shows that she remains unimpressed by, along with her reasoning for the same, swiftly taking the away from Turner.

‘I’m in the minority’

Navarro quickly agreed with her co-hosts when it comes to Turner’s attractiveness, but she also expressed her thoughts on the reality shows that fall under the same category as ‘The Golden Bachelor’. Navarro said, “You know I actually don’t like these shows. I hate the idea of people competing when it comes to love. But apparently, I am in the minority because there has been a ‘Bachelor’ since 2002, ‘Bachelorette’ since 2003, ‘Bachelor Pad’ in 2010, ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ in 2013.” Navarro listed the shows that belong to ABC, the same network as ‘The View’ so it must have taken some courage to do the same.

Navarro then told her co-hosts and the audience what she would like to see instead of ‘The Golden Bachelor’ and said, “You know what I would like to see? I would like to see some queer bachelor competition. If we’re going to compete,” Navarro pauses for a few seconds as the audience cheered and applaud before she added, “I would love to see it.” Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines then discussed ‘The Golden Bachelor’ but Navarro was not done expressing her views on similar shows.

Ana Navarro interrupts her co-hosts

After Haines delivered a beautiful monologue on finding love again, barring the age or the loss one has suffered before, Navarro diverted the attention back to her discussion which was applauded. Navarro pointed out the problem she has with reality dating shows, while also cutting off her co-hosts, “But you know, these shows though can turn into like the Hunger Games. So I had a classmate, brilliant woman – a doctor, an oncologist, who competed in one of these things and she lost her mind, during the show. You know, so I don’t like the way it turns, too often, women to cannibals, fighting for the one little rib.”

The co-hosts were then quick to steer the conversation in a different direction, talking about the first-ever reality show instead, and Navarro did not continue her rant after that.
