Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders is undergoing emergency surgery for blood clots found in his legs.

Last week, there were rumors that former NFL player and current Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders might have his left foot amputated after years of issues concerning the foot. And, in a recent YouTube video, Sanders even said he had no feeling at all in the bottom of his foot.

On Thursday's Pat McAfee Show, however, former NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones revealed that Sanders is set to have emergency surgery early Friday morning following a recent doctor's visit that discovered two blood clots in his legs. The surgery will ultimately restore his blood flow and help address health issues that have spanned a few years.

The surgery comes after previous health issues, including back in 2021 when Sanders had surgery to address a dislocated toe and nerve troubles. Unfortunately, that surgery led to severe complications, ultimately ending with Sanders having to get both his big toe and second toe amputated.

Those troubles, sadly, have continued to persist to the point where they desperately needed fixing.

"This is where we are now. There's no talk of amputation, there's no talk of any of that whatsoever," Sanders told Yahoo Sports. "Now I can finally move forward and get this stuff fixed."

After his surgery, Sanders will follow certain procedures which can ultimately help his foot be fixed.

In the past, Sanders had made it clear that he intended to do the surgery as soon as possible. One thing was always on his mind. The newly titled Colorado coach's plan is still the same: Be back on the field in time for Colorado's home opener against TCU.

After the surgery on Friday, Sanders will be one step closer to returning back to his team.
