Ambulance workers from Derry could not cross the border due to visa issues, an Irish politician says.

Some Northern Ireland ambulance workers "could not assist" in a deadly County Donegal explosion because of visa issues, an assembly has heard.

The blast at a service station in Creeslough last year killed 10 people.

The British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly heard the claim on Tuesday.
