Chris Christie made claims against Donald Trump in his recent appearance on 'Morning Joe' but received backlash online for it

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Morning Joe’ host Willie Geist welcomed GOP candidate and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie on Tuesday morning, November 28, where he spoke more about former President Donald Trump, just over a week ahead of the next Presidential debate.

In this segment, Christie was asked if Trump would be “convicted of something” and the GOP candidate appeared incredibly sure of his response when he claimed that the former President “will be convicted” and went on to provide more details on the same.

However, as Christie gave his view on the matter, the internet did not appear too thrilled by the former New Jersey governor.

Willie Geist questions Chris Christie on Donald Trump

On ‘Morning Joe’, amid conversations about Donald Trump, host Willie Geist said to Chris Christie, “You were s US Attorney. You raised the possibility of conviction. I talked to a prominent defense lawyer who said, ‘You got nine charges against you, might be able to get you off, work a deal. 91? I don't know about that.’”

He then asked the former New Jersey governor, “Are you convinced he's going to be convicted of something?”

Christie’s response to Geist was prompt when it came to the matter of a possible conviction. “He's going to be convicted this spring in Washington on the January 6th stuff,” said the GOP candidate with confidence.

“The thing that convinced me of that was Mark Meadows getting a deal,” said Christie as he elaborated, “Listen, I was around the White House during that period of time Mark Meadows was velcroed to Trump's hip. He was with him every minute of the day.”

The GOP candidate continued, “He knows everything that was discussed, everything that was told to Donald Trump about the real results of the election, and everything that Donald Trump instructed others to do.”

“He knows it, and he's going to be an objective observer of that. With an immunity deal, he has no reason not to tell the absolute truth, which also includes that he engaged in committing crimes as well,” said Christie.

Internet reacts to Chris Christie’s remarks on Donald Trump

After ‘Morning Joe’ shared part of their morning segment on X, formerly known as Twitter, the internet was quick to respond. One user wrote, “He must own a crystal ball.”

“Oh, well Chris Christie says it's so...” laughed one user, and another also addressed ‘Morning Joe’, writing, “Enough with Christie as your guest.”

Chris Christie continued to face the internet’s mockery as yet another person mocked the GOP candidate, writing, “My mute button is very useful when @GovChristie is on,” and a fifth wrote, “The only way he’s getting on TV is dissing Trump. He has all the integrity of a Nevada boxing commissioner.”

“I don’t care how anti-trump Christie is, I’ll not support or endorse him to be a dog catcher, much less president,” wrote one user.
