Pochettino has long been expected to take over at Stamford Bridge after talks with ex-Bayern Munich manager collapsed in late April. 90min understands that Poch put pen to paper on his contract at Stamford Bridge on Sunday prior to the Blues' 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.

The Argentine manager takes charge of a club in crisis following a disastrous 2022/23 campaign. Despite spending around £500m on new players, Chelsea could only muster a 12th place finish in the Premier League and went through two permanent (Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter) and one caretaker manager (Frank Lampard) during the season.

Poch's first task at Stamford Bridge will be steadying the ship and also tying Mason Mount down to a long-term deal. The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move this summer. 90min recently reported that contract talks have stepped up in recent weeks due to Pochettino being a 'huge fan' of the player.
