Players should look for Pokémon like Klefki, Gastrodon and Clodsire to take on the Greninja Tera Raid event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The Next Tera Raid event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a Seven-Star Poison-type Greninja. The event was officially able for players to attempt yesterday, and the first bout of this event will end on Jan. 29, with the second window being available from Feb. 10 to Feb. 12.

This Tera Raid will be one of the most difficult thus far for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players, as Greninja will have many versatile moves with varying types such as; Gunk Shot, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, Night Slash and many other moves that do not necessarily damage opponents, but can cause a raise in the notch of difficulty.

Since the battle will surely be draining for both player and Pokémon, we've compiled a list of Pokémon that may prove useful in the fight.

Who Are the Best Pokémon for the Greninja Tera Raid?

1. Klefki

Klefki is a Steel- and Fairy-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. Its typing gives it an advantage in this fight because it is immune to Poison-type moves and also the poisoned status effect. This Pokémon's offensive capabilities may hinder it in this fight, but luckily, it learns the move Foul Play, which will scale in power depending on the attack stat of the opposing Pokémon, for which Greninja has a very high one.

2. Gastrodon

Gastrodon, a Water- and Ground-type Pokémon, hails from the Generation IV games. Its ability, Water Absorb, prevents all Water-type moves from damaging it, and they will instead heal the Pokémon. This can come in handy if the Greninja uses Hydro Pump, and will ultimately end up not damaging the Gastrodon entirely. Gastron's Ground typing will also allow it access to same type attack boosts (STAB) for Ground-type moves, which are super-effective to Poison-types.

3. Clodsire

Clodsire is an incredibly easy-to-find Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. It is a dual Poison- and Ground-type Pokémon, that also has access to Water Absorb as an ability, similar to the prior entry. For the same reasons it can succeed against Greninja, and on top of that, it is immune to Poison damage and the effect due to its typing and will get STAB damage with Ground-type moves.
