Manchester City beat Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday, and goal-scorer Bernardo Silva has revealed how his side achieved such a feat.

Bernardo Silva has opened up on how Manchester City were able to tear Real Madrid apart to reach the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons.

The Premier League champions ran riot in the second leg of their semi-final on Wednesday, trouncing Los Blancos in a 4-0 win.

Silva kicked off proceedings with a first-half brace, before a late own goal from Eder Militao and one last strike from Julian Alvarez sealed a memorable night for Man City.

Speaking to BT Sport post-match, Silva insisted that his side's mental toughness and state of mind helped them push through at a stage where they fell last season.

"It is a beautiful night for us. We know it would be tough but to beat this Real Madrid team 4-0 at home was wonderful. Hopefully we will win it.

"We know how tough they are. They pushed us but we were very resiliant, we were passionate but organised at the time.

"My performance in the first game in Madrid was not the one I wanted and I wanted to compensate that. Today I had to do better for my team-mates and the fans and that is what I tried to do.

"I am small but good with my head!"

Looking ahead to June's final against Inter, Silva admitted he has been watching the Nerazzurri over the course of the season.

"I watched their games, they look very strong and organised defensively. It will be tough but we will try it," he added.

"The Premier League is another trophy we want to win with our fans again so will look to recover before then."

Man City can sew up their third-straight Premier League title this weekend by beating Chelsea or hoping Arsenal lose at Nottingham Forest.
