Apex Legends Season 16 could be one of the game's most successful launches to date, after the game hit its all-time player count peak.

Respawn highlighted Apex Legends Season 16: Revelry as the perfect time to start getting into Apex Legends, and it seems that might have paid off. The season update saw more changes than ever before, with a shake-up of the game's class system.

Called “Remastered Legend Classes,” existing Legends have now been assigned one of five classes:

Additionally, these new classes each come with certain perks for its Legends, effectively changing the landscape of Apex matches. This new system, alongside the new Team Deathmatch mode and a variety of balances and adjustments, have seemingly boosted the game's popularity.

Apex Legends is Healthier Than Ever, According to Player Count

On Feb. 15, 2023, just a day after the Season 16 launch, Apex hit a peak player count of 609,000 at roughly 9am ET. The previous peak count was 510,000, which occurred back in August 2022.

It's worth noting that only Steam player count numbers are trackable, so the data doesn't account for those on console. While these numbers are great for Apex, it's possible we could see even more players gravitate towards the game during the first weekend since Season 16's launch.

The player count comes at a time when fans have expressed concerns over the game's future, owing to the shutting down of Apex Legends Mobile. However, these numbers, and Respawn's reassurance, will serve as a good indicator of the game's possible longevity.
