Aaron Rodgers finally responded to Sean Payton's disparaging comments of Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

Nathaniel Hackett is catching strays from Sean Payton, who has blasted the state of the Denver Broncos culture and locker room in the stead of taking over for Hackett who was fired after one season at the helm of the Broncos organization.

Payton has already walked his comments indicting Hackett back, but they caught negative press for how aggressive they were. His excuse for why he made them was fairly weak.

Aaron Rodgers finally shoots back at Broncos head coach Sean Payton

On Sunday, NFL Network's Peter Schrager sat down with Aaron Rodgers and asked him about his offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett. Head coach Robert Saleh has already responded to the comments from Payton.

Hackett joined the Jets this offseason to be the offensive coordinator, which reunites new quarterback Rodgers with Hackett, who was the Packers' offensive coordinator from 2019 until he took the Broncos job.

"Those comments were very surprising for a coach to do that to another coach," Rodgers said before monologuing on how great Hackett is. Rodgers called him, "arguably" his favorite coach ever, praised him as a family man, and said he has plenty to show for his efforts in the NFL.

Then, he absolutely unleashed on Sean Payton.

"It made me feel bad that someone who's accomplished a lot in the league is that insecure that they have to take another man down to set themselves up for some sort of easy fall if it doesn't go well for that team this year. I thought it was way out of line, inappropriate and I think he needers to keep my coaches names out of his mouth."

Denver and New York play each other in October this year, and that's a game that will be circled with red ink on the calendar for both teams. The Jets and Broncos have major expectations this season, and both will now have something to prove with the drama off the field as well.

Payton is an elite offensive mind, and Hackett has done well as an offensive coordinator in the past even if his coaching stint was terrible. Be on the lookout for an electric shootout.
