'Last day on the set of 'Rust' with this guy'

The filming of the western movie 'Rust' at Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana had recently resumed after being halted due to a tragic incident. In April, Alec Baldwin had two counts of manslaughter charges in connection with the incident dropped off. The special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis at the time said that "over the last few days... new facts were revealed" in the case, requiring further investigation. Hutchins's family is reportedly pursuing a civil case against Baldwin.

On Instagram, Baldwin shared a photo alongside fellow actor Patrick Scott McDermott, capturing the end of their filming journey together. The caption read: "Last day on the set of 'Rust' with this guy." The seemingly celebratory nature of the post was met with strong criticism from those who believed it showed a lack of sensitivity towards the tragic loss of life that occurred during the production. However, some wished the actor good and congratulated him for finally completing the movie. The actor also shared a clean shaved face in the later post and wrote, "God, it felt good to shave off that beard…"

'A human life was lost. Wth?'

"They still moved forward with the film. Sorry, but horribly poor taste. A human life was lost. Wth?" an Instagram user commented on the post. Another user wrote, "The fact that someone died tragically on this set, a young mother at that, should mean that while you do go on and finish the movie, perhaps out of respect and common sensitivity you don’t post happy photos with the remaining living from that particular movie set!!!!! Good fucking God!!."

'Don't shoot the poor kid'

One thought, "When I see this post I'm thinking of the son of Halyna 😥. If he is also having a bright future ahead?." A few more users took a sarcastic swipe a the actor with one writing, "No animals were harmed in the making of this movie. Only a cinematographer 🔫." One requested, "Don't shoot the poor kid 😂." One alleged, "Got away with murder smh."

'Halyna Hutchins would have loved to finish the movie'

As one asked, "Bro how could you finish that movie? 🤦🏼‍♂️," he was corrected by other users informing that it was the "Hutchins family that had wanted the film to be completed." To which the user replied, "I understand that as an homage to the beautiful woman whose last film it was, she worked on. Anything else I think would be so insensitive and disrespectful. Thanks for sharing." One more user said, "Halyna Hutchins would have loved to finish the movie..." As another user expressed, "Glad that you guys finished it. Lessons learned for the whole industry (hopefully). RIP Halyna."
